Agenda, Book of Abstracts, and Updated Flyer Posted for Symposium on Kona's (West Hawaiʻi) Marine Ecosystem: Trends and Status
August 22, 2014
We are pleased to post the daily agenda and book of abstracts for the Science Symposium on Kona's (West Hawaiʻi) Marine Ecosystem: Trends and Status. We have a wonderful line-up of speakers presenting over the two day event, covering a variety of topics including cetaceans, larval dispersal and recruitment, fish and coral reef communities, community-based efforts, and decision-support tools for resource management in West Hawaiʻi.
In addition to the number of great presentations, the symposium will also be hosting an information booth session where
local organizations conducting work related to the conservation, science, and management of West Hawaiʻi's marine
ecosystem will be present. Similar to a poster session typically held at scientific conferences, the information booth
session will provide an opportunity for attendees to interact and engage with local organizations making positive
contributions in the area. The booth session will be from 5 - 6 pm, immediately following the last presenter on the first
day of the symposium. We still have additional room in the information booth session - feel free to Jamison Gove
(Jamison.gove@noaa.gov)
if your organization is interested.
